Alex Springer (MFA Smith College / BFA University of Michigan) is a choreographer, performer, video artist, and Assistant Professor of Contemporary Dance at the University of Florida. His co-creative projects with Xan Burley manifest as dances for the stage and camera, site-adaptive performances, transdisciplinary collaborations, and multimedia installations. He has performed with artists such as Alexandra Beller, Jeanine Durning, Adriane Fang, Angie Hauser, Heidi Henderson, and was a member of Doug Varone and Dancers from 2007–17. During his tenure with Varone, he acted as the rehearsal director, company manager, and still serves as the company's archivist and répétiteur.
